It’s a topic the general public and health care providers don’t talk about enough. Increased stress during your pregnancy can:

  • Contribute to high blood pressure
  • Slow the growth of your baby
  • Result in preterm birth

…not to mention that stress takes the joy out of pregnancy – a time when you could be calm and confident instead! 

Good news – there are simple, yet powerful, tools that can help you decrease stress and increase calm and confidence during pregnancy. 

Part of midwifery care is about teaching daily practices that reduce stress and prepare the body for pregnancy and birth.

Unfortunately, not everyone has access to midwifery care and that’s why we’ve created this roadmap.

Meet your Pregnancy Mentor

HI, I’m Cheryl and I’m a midwife.  Beyond the pregnancy and birth, it’s my mission to help women thrive through this major transformation in their lives. 

When I think about WHY I became a midwife, I always come back to my mom. She was finishing college when she had me, and then my dad left shortly afterwards. As a single mom, she didn’t have it easy. She worked hard to support us. She was always exhausted, and yet she always showed up for me 100%. Now, as an adult, I realize what it must have taken her to be the kind of mother that she was, despite everything. 

After midwifery school, for the last 8 years, I’ve been serving women one-to-one.  But I knew that there were so many more women that are missing out on having exposure to midwifery care in their pregnancies.  As midwives, we go beyond the numbers and dive into what is really going on in pregnancy and postpartum.  Besides healthy pregnancy conversations, we get to know our clients- their deepest fears, worries, anxieties, joys and more.  Like I said- REAL CONVERSATIONS.   

I get that many women want or need to have an Ob/Gyn and that’s okay.  But, midwives are the GOLD STANDARD around the world.  I wanted a way to be able to reach more women and give them the best of both worlds.  So, I teamed up with two additional midwives and Your Thriving Pregnancy ™ was born.

If you’re feeling anxious or nervous about birth, if you feel like your care provider isn’t giving you what you need, or if you’re just looking for a new way of thinking about birth and parenthood (one that’s based on support, community, and a holistic approach), then you’re in the right place.
