Your Thriving Pregnancy’s Values
We Honor All Journeys
We are committed to serving those who are pregnant, looking to become pregnant, and throughout postpartum. As midwives, we seek to honor the whole person, their individual situation, and their unique journey. We are committed to collaboration, community, and co-creation.
We normalize using gender neutral language in our materials to reflect the diversity of birthing people and family structures. We affirm and respect that not all pregnant people gender identify as women and that birth and parenting partners are as diverse as the communities we serve. While we do also use gender-specific words, we aim to use balanced and inclusive language that ensures everyone feels welcome and supported in our community.
Social justice is beyond the written word. We strive to normalize and embody what it means to be anti-racist, elevating human rights and create spaces of belonging. We work to deconstruct socialized messages, while simultaneously reconstructing values that support all identities.
We acknowledge that we are also on our own personal and professional paths. We continue to learn, make mistakes, and grow and see value in the journey of becoming better humans and midwives.
Mission and Vision
Your Thriving Pregnancy’s Pillars for Social Entrepreneurship
Make midwifery mainstream (again)
By helping lift up the image of midwifery
- Through positive publicity: Expert columns, showcasing excellence, positive experiences
Creating consumer demands for midwives
- Create spaces that help pregnant women/people remember who they are. To help the mother through midwifery care. To provide practical, sacred empowerment by listening deeply, reflecting, and sharing wisdom.
-
We are Certified Professional Midwives who’s mission and vision is to lift up society’s image of midwifery so that there will be a midwife for every family and a family for every midwife. We want to see midwives in every community, which will eliminate the health disparities that we are experiencing. We want consumers demand to be SO excited and interested in midwifery, that hospital institutions have to hire midwives, OBs need to release power, and midwives become the primary care providers from menarche to menopause. - Education and Resources
Building bridges: CNMs-CPMs-TMs=All midwives. OB/GYNs+Midwives. Traditional ways and modern ways.
To regenerate money back into black, indigenous, and marginalized midwives, midwifery education and organizations.
Every Thriving Circle donates a proceed to a cause chosen by the attendees of the circle.
- This serves two-fold of circulating money into the project, person, education, or organization AND it creates awareness within the attendees of the midwifery work that is happening in the US.
The ultimate goal is to lift all boats and influence a dramatic change in the system.
Creating a sustainable outlet for midwives to earn money
Thriving Circles provide income streams for midwives who need a break or otherwise need to supplement their income by using their knowledge.
- Often during a midwife’s career, they may need some time to take off-call or supplement their income. Midwives are already skilled in serving during pregnancy and postpartum and would need only minimal training to be a facilitator for the circles.
- By having an additional outlet where midwives can earn an income helps create stability within the profession.
